Baby Oliver has arrived!

Just a short note that this Beau Baby has arrived! Introducing Oliver.
Oliver was born on december the 29th 2013 weighting 4.450 kg and measured 51 cm.
To me it was a good and fast delivery. The only bad thing is that Oliver got his collar bone broken during the delivery, as he was a big baby, this sometimes happens they explained me at the hospital. We have to take care we don´t hurt him holding him. After 2 or 3 months it will be healed.
I took my time to recuperate and enjoy this baby.
Matteo treats him well with kisses and patting, but we do notice a bit of jalousy when he sees us with the baby in our arms. Talk to you soon, LOVE CHANTAL

The reason of my absence lately...

Hello luv´s! This is the reason for my absence lately, and I am so happy I can finally say that I am 8 weeks pregnant! I have been telling friends these days and I am astonished many of them ask if we were looking for a second baby so soon? Yes we were. I always have wanted 2 kids. I grew up as a happy only child but believe me I would commit ....anything... to have a brother or a sister, so if you have brothers or sisters, treasure that! I am due in the beginning of January 2014, Matt will be almost 2 years then. I am bullied with nausea, and I forgot how it was to be pregnant in the first trimester, uuuuh.
Hopefully soon I feel a bit better and I am back to posting often. Yesterday I had a girl from London visiting our place, and I had to say I was a bit shy to show her around, with Matt now walking and running trought the house nothing is neat! The house is a mess, ooo what would it be with 2 kids?

1st birthday party, soon to come...

How great! About a year ago I had a big round belly and now in some days I am going to celebrate the 1st birthdayparty of Matteo. I wil do someting small, some snacks drinks, and a cake for family and close friends. These images are nice for inspiration.

I would live to make these cake pops...

colorful and festive, with healthy snaks for the adults

Love pompoms for children

Absolutely liked this idea of making a photograph of your baby every month at the same spot so you could see the development. So awesome.

Toys organization

What about this girl from Beau Lifestyle...lately she hasn´t been posting regulary. Since our little one goes to the baby day care he has been sick continuously, and so am I. We are going to cancel baby day care and figure out something else as thing hasn´t been working so far.
To top off all my healt issues, this weekend I had a salmonella intoxication. We were given lovely wild mushrooms by friends, we made them with an egg omelette and oh my gosh, what a bad, bad, bad experience...Today I am feeling a little bit better, and tossed the remaining mushrooms into the garbage bin, no more wild mushrooms for us no more...
The only thing I have changed in our house is that I cleared the bottom 2 shelves of where we keep plates and dishes and stored Matteo´s toys. He is crawling and getting on his feet and was always attraced to my plates and dishes, so now I turned it into his toy storage. I like toys to be concentrated and organized in a part of the house, and become a part of the decoration, instead it to be scattered all over.
Hopefully I can get things back on track soon and return to my old self again. Thanks for being there for us and your lovely comments!

It´s friday again, the weekend has started. Soon it´s Halloween, do you decorate your house for that occasion? Our little boy got this super cute pants and onesie as a gift, it´s such a pleasure to see him crawl around the house with the smiling pumpkin on his bum. Matteo is recovering from a flu and also a cold...busy days with a sick bub. Now mr Beau got it too and i have to take care of 2 boys...
Enjoy your weekend and don´t catch a cold!

Matteo 5 months old

Our baby boy is 5 months old right now, he got 2 lower teeth wich is very early for a baby of his age and the other theeth are visible as well. I tried to snap a picture of his theet, as he laughs a lot during the day, but every time the camera comes near he gets this focused look on his face and does nothing else but stare, like on the above picture.

Matteo 4 months

Today is Matteo´s 4th month day.
He is getting wiser and brabbeling my head of, and he makes me smile every time he laughs with a wide open mouth, showing his two teeth...wasn´t able to catch that on a picture. When he sees a camera he stops smiling and looks curious to the black thing, same as with the iphone..such a shame.
It´s very nice weather outside and we are going to make a stroll.

Beau Butterfly

I  really love the crochet butterfly “taxidermy” frame display, I saw it for the first time during our stay in france in easter holidays. It´s so adorable for any nursery. It´s from the NYC based brand Oeuf!

Queensday 2012 in Amsterdam was a lovely hot and sunny day, it was great to party and mingle with orange dressed people. It's a perfect day to be happy and act crazy. Queensday is a day we celebrate Queen Beatrix her mother's (Juliana) birthday, and it's a day that everyone is allowed to sell their old stuff, it's like a big open air flea market. I bought some new children books for the library I am creating at home.

My friend Engel, sold her stock of jewelry and did good business that day. Matteo was either in the carrier bag or his stroller depending on his mood.

My Mom caught me dancing with Matteo on the Jackson five song..

It was a perfect day!

Top 5 baby & mommy products - first month

My sweet Matteo making a Spanish siesta.

My top 5 baby products that I have been using a lot in these 3 weeks that I wanted to share with you.

1. Bednest, a beautifull designed co sleeper that is next to our bed, easy acess for night feedings and to comfort your baby when needed.
2. Aden and Anais products, absolutely love all their products especially their muslins as I wrap Matteo in it and he loves it!

3 Medela products: pure lan cream and breastmilk pump

4.Best tip and secret I got from a mother of five, beeswax nipple covers, they help you prevent nipple damage made during breastfeeding. You were them during the day and you take them off during breastfeeding. I think thanks to these covers, breastfeeding for me is a nice experience. Maybe it´s something spanish as I have never heard from them before and i can´t find any information in other languages like English.

5. Delivery gown from Etsy seller Labour of Love, I felt pretty in these gowns during my stay in the hospital.

Matteo

Last Sunday, the 26th of february, our baby boy Matteo was born, in this picture he was just an hour after birth, still a bit blueish pink as newborns are. He weighted 4.5 kilos and was 52 cm long, a big boy as the doctor said.

After a bath at home, cozy and relaxed. Thank you for those who checked this blog every day for news about our baby, I needed a few days to get to know our baby boy and set a routine. It was a great exprience giving birth, hard work, but so satisfying, being able to hold Matteo in our arms and seeing his face finally after nine months. We are so in love...

Beau Lifestyle´s Nursery Revealing

Finally I can reveal Matteo´s nursery, after many ´to do´ things were done, thanks to the grandparents. It´s a mix of vintage finds, some new things, DIY projects and Ikea. I wanted to create a room that I am confortable in too. 15 more days untill my due date, I have the feeling Matteo wants to come a bit earlier, so today I have packed my hospital bag and took pictures of the Nursery.
I am so in love with the vintage faux bamboo chandeliers that I won on Ebay, I have got them rewired and painted them, so they are as good as new again.

The XL changing station, with everything in reach. The hat and sleeping bag are handmade gifts.

The curtains with the ribbon that my mom DIY-ed, I am so happy how it looks.

The Leander crib with the animal prints. The owl is handmade by my mom who used the same fabric as I used to upholstered the little chair.

I would love to have a little library with childrenbooks, so now I started collection them.

The wonderfull O´verlays, that give the 2 little closets an instant wow factor and you can´t really tell the mess behind them.
another love of the nursery is the vintage parrot lamp I purchased on Etsy. Other Etsy purchases is the vintage tea cup with the gold M monogram and the peepee teepees (fabric cones) so Matteo doesn´t pee on me when changing his diapers.
