black and white babyshower

How chic is this black and white baby shower? Never thought you could make a babyshower look like an adult party.

Looks so inviting and candy for the eye

Love the detail of the invited friends being able to make their own scent of aromatherapy and bring it home.

weekend

How was your weekend? did you enjoyed the superbowl, or just had a fun weekend out?
Yesterday I had my birthday, and the best present was that my parents flew over.
We made our own birthday cake, I might not have been perfect to be worth for a picture but it was delicious. I just finished another piece of yesterdays cake, yummy.
I am oficially 30 now, and soon to be a mum, that i look very forward to.

How great are these glasses? Many times when you invite people you can´t remember where you left your drink. Now just by painting the base of the glass with chalkboard painting, you can write your name down and enjoy your glass for the rest of the evening.

It´s a boy!!!

Yay! We are going to have a baby boy! Yesterday we organized a revealing party.
We invited a small group of family and closest friends to cut the baby cake with us.
From the outside the cake was white, and only the cake maker knew if it was going to be a boy or a girl, so we were equally surprised to find out the gender of the baby.

these first 2 pictures is both of us happy but tired after the people left, we totally forgot to film it

Trough Skype my parents were able to see it too!
Now I can start decorating the nursery finally!

Queensday

You must have noticed I didn't blog on friday, I am in Amsterdam right now leaving tomorrow to Spain again. Last Saturday it was Queensday (koninginnedag) in Holland, and for me it's a tradition to celebrate it with my family and friends in Holland.

I found some information that explains what queensday is:
On April 30, the Dutch celebrate Koninginnedag ("Queen's Day"), a national holiday to commemorate the birthday of the country's (former) Queen. It is by far the most widely celebrated holiday in the Netherlands. Amsterdam festivities in particular rival those of Mardi Gras in New Orleans or New Year's Eve in New York City. As such, Amsterdam is packed to the gills on April 30, welcoming up to two million party-going visitors. History of Queen's Day
The Dutch have been observing Queen's Day on April 30 since 1949, when the new Queen Juliana ascended the throne. Before then, the holiday fell on August 31, the birthday of Juliana's mother, former Queen Wilhelmina.
When the current Queen Beatrix succeeded Juliana in 1980, she chose to keep Queen's Day on April 30, as Beatrix's own birthday is January 31, a date when Dutch weather isn't conducive to the many outdoor activities associated with the holiday.
Every year Queen Beatrix visits one or two Dutch towns to greet her country's people and visitors, who receive her with fitting celebrations. What began as a commemoration of the Dutch Royal Family has evolved into a nationwide day of creative, carefree springtime revelry.

It's a day that the city center and canals of Amsterdam are packed with orange dressed party people and boats full with loud music and people drinking beers! On the other side it's a day that people can sell their old stuff and clothes in the middle of the streets and it's a great oportunity to find some precious things for scratch.

It's so much fun and we had sunny weather, that made it even more lovely.
