And there was light...
These 2 lamps are there for over 2 years, but never worked as I didn´t had an electrical point there.
The electricians came over and fixed it, now at night it´s nice and cozy, and finally there was light in our entrance...

Pagoda lamps
What do you think about pagoda lamps, love or not?
I am a big fan of chinoiserie things, especially if it´s mixed with other styles.
I like the lampshade on this pagoda lamp too.

Hope you had a nice weekend! I have to admid that I looked forward to give Charlie his transformation but it was such hot weater this weekend, that beau boyfriend proposed to go sun bathing at the beach sounded as music to my ears.
This is my new love (obsession) It´s a vintage Emil Stejnar Sputnik lamp from the 70s.

This lovely NYC interior designer Kelly G, uses many of these sputnik lamps in her designs.

This is Kelly G her kitchen, and it is one of the most beautifull kitchens I have ever seen.

Did you experience the same problem?

Loods 5 - A dutch interior stylist´s heaven
Loods 5 is one of my favorite places in Holland to buy furniture, they have almost anything, all diferent styles, from nursery´s to kitchens, you name it, they have it.
Here is a movie that gives you an impression how big this shop is. Try to see it without the music (you can hear the man breathing- ugh, and I hope this rollercoaster way of filming doesn´t make you dizzy)
The man filming should have been pushed around in one of those shopping carts for the movie not to been so bouncy. Well I hope you liked your Dutch shopping experience.
Here are a few online pieces of furniture that I liked...I warn you many chairs, chairs and chairs

DSR Eames chair
Xavier Puchard chair
Eames rocking chair
Gringo Side chair

DIY add some ribbon to your lampshade
This is a lamp that I found on the roadside a long time ago (I have had many funny looks using the tramway carriying this lamp with me but I knew it had potential and I held on to it) So it has been patiently waiting for all that time. I bought a simple white lampshade, but it was missing something, it was looking all too white with the white painted walls.
A close up - I like the detailing of the foot of the lamp.
I needed adhedsive spray, sissors and ofcourse the ribbon (grosgrain)
Glue, add and cut - so simple
This is my mobile kitchenette, very practical and even has a fridge and hot water boiler. It has nothing to do with this diy, but you can imagine my office kitchen with the sofa.
Voila done in a heartbeat
Now you can see that I have to make another painting, a colourfull one to add some happiness to this kitchenarea and to cover the missplaced electricity outlet above the sofa, and now that we are thinking of what else is missing, maybe a nice rug.
I want my office to feel like home, as I spend most of my day time here, bit by bit it´s coming together.

Erika´s lovely office

I am still in the mood of seeing pretty offices and when one of the blogs I follow, Erika of Small Shop, posted her office I had to share. This girl has excellent taste and has well decorated and organized her office. See that amazing colourfull painting, she has purchased it from Erin Ashley at etsy! Some of other paintings are made by her and her babygirl. I also like her vintage golden mushroom lamp a lot.

Pretty right? Go and read her blog, she tells you where she got her lovely things from.

Beau loves Tom Dixon´s copper shade pendant lamp
This one is a favorite of mine, ever since I have seen it on other blogs, I would love to decorate someone´s house with this lamp.

I also like the whitefloor and black cowhide, mostly it´s the other way around and the goyard wallpaper
in the kitchen is pretty too!
This lamp will do in any kind of decoration, as I call it a mad men style, modern style, electic style...it´s so versatile. Also that the colour is copper (and not gold or silver) is attractive.

Moooi gallery Amsterdam
In Amsterdam I visited the studio of Moooi design
Many of their lamps and furniture are internationally well known around the globe.
I was impressed by the diversion of the fresh flowers.
random light by bertjan pot are the black light balls hanging from the ceiling, the
white lamp is the Dandelion by richard hutten and you can see the smoke dining
armchair from Maarten Baas.
The Horse lamp is hilarious, someone in Amsterdam attached this horse lamp on their ceiling, so weird.
Also shown light shade shade wich I love and is designed by jurgen bey
It´s a wonderfull spacious gallery and worth to visit. They sell nice cofeetable books of designer and
paintors and you will leave the gallery with new inspiration.
