1 year!

Our little one turned one today! This year flew by and now he´s a toddler...This weekend we will have a birthday cake to celebrate it. I took this picture this morning, he is so adorable with his number one medallion. We have been so blessed with Matteo, he´s very social, loves to be around other kids, people and animals. But this adorable face has quite a character, he knows what he wants and will make sure he gets it. He starts walking any time soon, many people told us, that it´s going to be an exhausting time...really, even more? We enjoy being with him every day, and we are very proud to discover more and more about his developments.

I bought Matteo some flowers for in his room, of course out of reach, as these common grapes are very pretty but also toxic. They do look sweet in his blue room.

And some pink tulips and white ranunculus for mommy, flowers make me happy.
Picked up this vintage white milk glass vase in last visit in amsterdam while flea market treasure hunting. It reminded me of coral, one of my favorite things.

Chalet in the Alpes

I am a big fan of wood painted white, so when I saw this dream chalet in the Alpes, I was sold.
We have very cold weather these days, we even had snow in the city, last time that was 10 years ago.

Love the retro bubble chair

Bowling pin

Yesterday Kingpin was on the television, not that I liked it, but seeing the bowling alley it reminded me of a room I did. First picture is a room I helped decorate on a tiny tiny budget. I just bought the map that hangs on the wall and the vintage bowling pin. It makes the room more interesting.

Then I saw another picture of someone that has used a bowling pin...so pretty and masculine right?

I am liking it!

Girly stuff

If you are a guy, please come back another day, including my dad who reads my blog, really this post you do not want to read.
There are so many things I want to write that are not related to interior decoration, baby and travel. It´s about girl stuff. I came to an age that things are changing, i am getting older and have some useful tips for you younger girls to prevent certain things and for older girls to make a beneficial change.

Let´s talk about boobs, tata´s, titi´s, whatever you want to call them.... Please invest in the best bra´s you can find even thought they are not so pretty. They need to be your size as you are today. Boobs change shape and volume during your life, especially if your weight goes up or down, and you will have many different bra sizes during that time. With one it changes more than others, but please keep in mind that you have to look critical towards yourself.
A good bra needs to give best support, be comfortable and shouldn´t show underneath your clothes.
As with good support I mean to keep those tata´s tamed, they should not bounce too much as you are walking, and during sports they should be strapped in as much as possible.
Skin is elastic to a certain point. If I stretches more than it can handle, stretch marks will appear.
As skin is a bit elastic, bouncing boobs will cause them to sag in a later stage. That is something you want to avoid.
During and after pregnancy your boobs can change quite a bit, but if you have a good supporting bra, you can avoid permanent changes.
Once in a while scrub them with a mild facial scrub and apply face mask, it will work wonders. Treat yourself with a nice full body massage and don´t forget the tata area.

My favorite bra´s that work for me:

tata tamer from Lululemon. Just look at the pics and you will understand this is the queen of all sport bra´s

For everyday use, I absolutely love the Avero bra from Marie Jo,
have them in many diferent colors. These bra´s give the support, are comfortable, pretty and they don´t show underneath your clothes, an absolute winner!
Take good care of your tata´s! Tataaa

Ikea hack- Highchair

When reading the post of one of my most favorite blogs Dwellings by Devore, I saw that se had hacked the Ikea high chair. It´s simple DIY but so pretty. She spray painted the legs in gold and added a vinyl monogram to the seat. Now that´s a winner! I also have the Ikea high chair and I am planning to do this fantastic DIY soon.

Highchair with gold legs = so Chic!

1st birthday party, soon to come...

How great! About a year ago I had a big round belly and now in some days I am going to celebrate the 1st birthdayparty of Matteo. I wil do someting small, some snacks drinks, and a cake for family and close friends. These images are nice for inspiration.

I would live to make these cake pops...

colorful and festive, with healthy snaks for the adults

Love pompoms for children

Absolutely liked this idea of making a photograph of your baby every month at the same spot so you could see the development. So awesome.

Vintage enamel sponge holder - Amsterdam

Hello, hello, sorry for the radiosilence. I am currently in Amsterdam spending time with family. I had to work hard last week to finish all errands before flying over to Amsterdam. I am here with Matteo and left mr. Beau home to let him work and make the money. We have celebrated my 31st birthday and his 1st year ( Matteo has his birthday the 26th oficially)
Many things I have done since I arrived here last weekend, got many nice DIY projects cause I have been buying more furniture...yes really, our house is already full, but as we are planning to move to a bigger place we need more furniture and I am collecting them now already hihi.
Above picture is an vintage enamel sponge holder, for those big yellow natural sponges... I came across this picture a while ago while browsing Martha Stewart's website. Martha Stewart collects these vintage enamel sponge holders and soap holders. I spotted mine during a flea market, first time ever I see one of these, they are quite rare. I am amazed it comes in such good condition, no flaws or chips missing. Mine is the picture below. My iphone takes poor quality photos lately...sorry for that
I am going to use our vintage sponge holder for the same brushes and scrubbers as Martha does.

So where is that damn good flea market...It's called Ijhallen, and it's located in the north of Amsterdam in a huge old ship building factory. It gives a nice vintage feel to the ambiance. If you go by public transport, it's nice to go from Central station and cross the river by a ferry that takes you there. It's a flea market where everyone sells their old stuff, a lot of clothes and also many vintage vendors. It's only held once a month, check their calender here.

These old class posters, are nice as wall decoration, search well and you'll find one that matches your interest.
Matteo and me comfortable dressed against the cold weather.
Lovely to be back home...
