Sliding doors

I am really looking into these DIY sliding doors, so practical for small spaces.
Browsing through pinterest I see a few diferent ways to do it. Barnstyle, or with plumbing tubes (my least favorite) or with a rail system on top ond little wheels on the floor ( i dont like to see rails in the floor)

Great to divide a room, hide a nook, close a pantry etc endless posibilities.

retty right! I adore it!

Tea Station

Hello! How was your weekend, mine was lovely, it´s great to be back and to be healthy, I am full of energy and I feel I have missed out on so many blogposts! I did nice things this weekend with Mr Beau and Baby Matteo, and had some time to rearrange some things in the house. I am still very fond of the lucite side table I bought in Zara home a few years ago, I had beautiful antique glass decanters placed on top of it, but with Matteo´s fingers touching them, I was afraid he might break them and so I stored them away. Now I use it as a tea station, I drink a lot of Chinese green tea, and these things all together could break, but are not that fragile as antique decanters.

Good quality wrapping paper with snake skin print I have placed underneath the lucite top on my wooden chest, I am very happy with the result.

All pictures taken with my new iphone 5, thanks dad for giving it to me as a present, love you!

Ikea hack- Highchair

When reading the post of one of my most favorite blogs Dwellings by Devore, I saw that se had hacked the Ikea high chair. It´s simple DIY but so pretty. She spray painted the legs in gold and added a vinyl monogram to the seat. Now that´s a winner! I also have the Ikea high chair and I am planning to do this fantastic DIY soon.

Highchair with gold legs = so Chic!

O´verlays love

I absolutely love O´verlays, I wrote about my O´verlays before. I keep checking them out and every time they have more splendid DIY make overs and IKEA hacks. Their customers have excellent taste and I appreciate the fact that thanks to O´verlays we can update a not so good looking piece or a plain ikea piece of furniture with little money and give it a designer look.

How about the above Ikea hack, O´verlays sells these thick Greek key corners to make the simple shelving unit so pretty. It´s the shelving unit called VITTSJO, costs 70 dollars.

Things that wow-ed my weekend

This weekend we made a stroll to the flower market and got some fuchsia/ruby red peonies, tulips, and gold branches. These gold branches I absolutely love and are an easy DIY to make. With my baby 24 on my arm it was impossible to spray paint these myself and bought them this time.
I am very fond of my antique malachite planter that is been filled to the brim with walnuts.
Our Christmas tree is up. A vintage DIY spray painted bird that I had from last year I used to top the tree. I chose this white tree as I wanted something diferent. To soften it up I used some gold branches and stuck them in between the white plastic branches of the tree and gold and white christmas balls.
Maybe I add something more, maybe not.
I am in the gold phase, as you can see things added to the decor are mostly golds...I am thrilled with this gold mirrored monogram I bought over Me and belle. Me and belle is an online boutique that makes custom monogram keychains, wall appliqués, silhouettes and more...so recommendable to pay the shop a visit. I stuck it to the wall above our bedboard. Before we had a Vintage sunburst mirror there but with our baby playing on our bed I had nightmares about that thing falling down, off it went and now finally the wall doesn´t look so empty any more.
Another great change is that I had black ribbon sewed on to a simple white duvet cover from Ikea and now it looks so much more interesting. It has this square design in all 4 corners of the cover.

Gobsmacked by DIY

I am totally gobsmacked by this pretty DIY, Dina from Honey and Fitz, had the patience and the skills to make this silver shiney starry ceiling, inspired by the Osborn and Little Coronata star wallpaper pattern. She tells you step by step how to achieve this pretty ceiling.

Another Honey and Fitz DIY favorite is this string art piece, read all about it here. Sure your hands are itching to make something similar right?

I am always intrigued by branches. As clothes rod or even thid idea for curtains!

DIY studs sandals

These inexpensive pink coral sandals looked a bit plain, so I did this little diy to funk them up a bit with some golden studs.

I used these acrylic studs and a glue gun....
Voila...the almost finished sandals...

graffiti walls and adore magazine

I absolutely love the graffiti walls Nicole from Sketch painted on a wall at a bachelor apartment in NYC, it´s features in Adore home magazine.
I would really want to try this at home, but instead of black paint I would choose a more soft color or gold. Oh my...I am getting myself excited for another DIY project.

If a wall is too much for you, a painting is an other option.

To get back to the Adore magazine:

Room by Ana Cordeiro

Room by Mariska Meijers

Both of these rooms are featured in Adore Magazine, and I have met these 2 lovely ladies in Person, Ana in Lisbon and Mariska in Amsterdam. Does it mean that this bloggers world is small or that I have been incredibly lucky to have met these talented ladies?

Before and after

Yesss, I did it again! I found another pitiful nightstand on the street. It look very similar to the one I found last year, but it´s a but more damaged. You must have seen the looks of peoples faces when they saw me walk with the dirty old nightstand under my arm, many people don´t get it, but I see potential in things. A friend came up to me that he also saw me walking with an old nightstand and was wondering what I do with this crap!
Well, see next foto, I turn it in to this:

This is the one I have next to my bed and I am missing one for on the other side, hopefully the next one will look similar. Let me get you to the next before and after.

This is how I should look like every day in my office...

And this is the reality...many times I look like this, with a white coat on, hair pulled back and a colicky baby sleeping on my shoulder...so you know it, this is my Beau Lifestyle...

Digging the Spikes

For a while now i have been seeing the spikes everywhere, I especially am liking the gold toned ones on bracelets, clothes and shoes. I feel a new DIY proyect is coming up...on the otherhand I am probably not doing it, cause it´s not so babyfriendly...Matteo is turning 3 months soon, oh he is growing up so fast, I think he is getting his first tooth!

Nursery and kidsroom decoration

Hello everyone, It's weekend! Yay! Hope you have some nice things planned to do. I travelled with baby Matteo to Amsterdam, for him to meet family and friends. It was hard work to keep him occupied drinking during take off and landing, traveling with a bay is a whole new experience.

Absolutely loved these gold horses against a grey wall. The Horses were found at a flea market and DIY spraypainted. This could be easily done with any kind of funny objects, especially if you are so lucky to get a few of them, and you turn it in to an artwall. This picture comes from the blog The Gold Yelly Bean

Another favorite is this bird mobile from etsy seller Birds of a feather

Fabric covered bakets to hold diapers, toys and knick-knacks

Next monday is queensday in Holland, will make pictures and write about it on Tuesday.
